CF: Swiss Chard & Caramelized Onion Pizza

This recipe is specifically for the preparation of the toppings. For more information on cooking your own pizza, please refer to the PW’s recipe for dough.

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes
Servings: 3

Ingredients:

1/2 onion (chopped)
3-5 stalks Swiss chard
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt

pizza sauce
pizza cheese

Directions:

1. Chop 1/2 onion.
2. Put 1/2 onion, chopped, into pan on medium-low heat with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil.
3. Meanwhile, julienne the washed chard.
4. Stir the onion occasionally, allowing for them to caramelize (about 15 minutes)
5. Add chard, and allow to wilt (typically about 2-5 minutes, depending on the chard amount.)
6. Turn off heat, add mixture to pizza, salting to taste. Cook pizza 10-12 minutes, until crust is browned.
