Today is World Food Day – a day dedicated to eliminating hunger across the map.
World Food Day was created in 1981 to bring attention to food security. Did you know nearly one in seven people is undernourished? The number of hungry people has declined since World Food Day has started, but there is still work to be done. There are World Food Day events across the country you can participate in: In Los Angeles, there are several Oxfam GROW events. What World Food Day and Oxfam GROW aim to do is change the way we look at agricultural: socially, economically, globally, culturally, technologically. Food prices are on the rise, but changing the way we see the world’s food supply will help.
For more information, check out the World Food Day website, or join an event near you – you can help us change for the future!
