Here at GMS, we’re generally aware that it is football season. And so, we thought for those of you hosting Sunday events or just in look of a weekend snack might appreciate some seven layer dip. However, this seven layer dip doesn’t make you want to stop three chips in and wonder, “What was I thinking?”
C’mon, we know that happens. You’re three bites in and you’ve had a little too much refried bean and heavy sour cream and suddenly regretting the decisions you’ve made.
That does happen to you…right? Right?!
Whew, I thought so.
And so, we leave you with seven layer dip that DOESN’T make you want to stop after three bites. It’s fresh. It’s fun. It delicious. And you can eat it for at least…ten bites!
Your ingredients are simple:
Black beans. Tomatoes. Onions. Avocado. Cheese. Chives. Sour cream.
Black beans. Rinsed.
Tomatoes. Chopped. I used heirloom tomatoes because they were just so good.
Onions…
…diced. I like a nice raw red onion.
Green onions. The white, the green. We’re not choosy.
Look at all those delicious items, waiting to be layered.
Alright, enough already. Let’s get down to business.
Beans.
Tomato.
Avocado.
Cheese. We choose cheddar, but you have a lot of options here.
Green onions. Hallelujah!
Sour cream. Is your mouth watering yet? Mine is, and I just had dinner.
All that seven-layer glory.
Garnish the top with some more cheese (if you didn’t eat it all!) Dip in with a tortilla chip, or ten, or twenty.
Yum
