Ingredients
- 4 thin plum slices (including skin)
- 6 ounce bourbon
- 1 sugar cube
- Pechards Bitters
- Dr. Pepper
- Ice
Directions
- Take your thin slices of plum and put them in a zip lock back. Seal the bag and then pulverize the plums by crushing them in the bag with your fists or a blunt object. The goal is to get the plums mashed up a bit to release their flavor. Don’t disintegrate them. The darker the plum the better.
- Take a cocktail shaker and drop in the sugar cube. Take your Pechards bitters and coat the sugar cube. Then go ahead and drop in half the pulverized plum slices, you will save the other half for garnish in the drink.
- Take a masher and pulverize the sugar cube and plums together for a few moments so the sugar, bitters, and juices can combine.
- Then fill the cocktail shaker with crushed ice and pour in the bourbon.
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Strain the contents into a chilled ice filled glass.
- Throw in the remaining plums for garnish.
- Top off the drink with a few ounces of Dr. Pepper and give the contents of the glass a quick mix.
