{"id":8296,"date":"2012-10-17T06:00:11","date_gmt":"2012-10-17T13:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/?p=8296"},"modified":"2012-10-16T18:05:42","modified_gmt":"2012-10-17T01:05:42","slug":"christening-a-waffle-iron","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/christening-a-waffle-iron\/","title":{"rendered":"Christening a Waffle Iron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Stef recently got a waffle iron from her dad in the mail (thanks Stef&#8217;s dad)!<\/p>\n<p>Since the waffle iron is covered in teflon, a porous surface that absorbs gluten, it cannot ever be adequately freed of said gluten. \u00a0So us celiac folks need to be wary of teflon used to make gluten-full food to avoid cross contamination issues.<\/p>\n<p>Once this waffle iron makes some gluten-full waffles it is no longer a viable option available to me. \u00a0However, I have lovely friends who offered me the opportunity to christen the waffle maker by making GF waffles and pancakes as its first use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=8353\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8353\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8353\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/waffle-iron.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/waffle-iron.gif 533w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/waffle-iron-199x300.gif 199w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/waffle-iron-66x100.gif 66w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Coupled with being excited to use a waffle maker, I was also excited to try the new line of GF Bisquick pancake mix, which is readily available in major grocery stores.
