Cat challenged everyone to make a piece mont\u00e9e, or  croquembouche, based on recipes from Peter Kump\u2019s Baking School in  Manhattan and Nick Malgieri.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pi%C3%A8ce_mont%C3%A9e\">A Piece Mont\u00e9e<\/a> is basically a cake made of cream puffs that are filled with custard and dipped in caramel or chocolate, then built into a cone. Here&#8217;s a finished one, so you get the idea:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_YmQcBSp-FtM\/S_yiMPF1bGI\/AAAAAAAACC8\/fISeE83d1fE\/s912\/DSC_0349.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Please excuse the cracker box in the background. Because we didn&#8217;t have enough foresight to move the grits to the back burner.
