however, I hope this brief list gives GF persons a place to start.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0It should be said that a con to all of the products below are their prices. \u00a0They are really high, which is a total bummer.\u00a0 However, it is but a small price to pay when you feel like you are eating real food!\u00a0 Now, please note, if you are newly GF or a non-GF person, a lot of these foods don\u2019t taste exactly like their counterparts; however, they are completely legitimate and delicious in their own way.\u00a0 I have found that it is often better to not go into eating GF food with previously held expectations.\u00a0 Go forth with an open mind, you will probably be pleased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The GF food items that can always found in my kitchen\/purse\/life:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/udisfood.com\/\"><strong>1) Udi&#8217;s Bread and Bagels<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Udis-gluten-free-bread-011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1968 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Udis-gluten-free-bread-011-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Udis-gluten-free-bread-011-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Udis-gluten-free-bread-011-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Udis-gluten-free-bread-011.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I randomly found a loaf of the white Udi\u2019s sandwich bread one year after my diagnosis in the special GF section of a Whole Foods in Boston.\u00a0 While waiting for the train home from the store with two friends I stood on the platform and happily ate slices of bread right out of the bag.\u00a0 There may have been some jumping up and down when I realized it tasted like actual bread instead of the small dense mealy rice flour loaves I had been eating previously.\u00a0 It was an exceedingly good day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Bread<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Light and fluffy.\u00a0 Tastes like real bread.\u00a0 Whole grain and white sandwich bread options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: Doesn\u2019t freeze well, it is hard when it thaws.\u00a0 Molds quickly (at least in CA) so I keep in the fridge to prevent this.\u00a0 Not a normal size piece of bread; on the small side, but still adequate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Bagels<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Bigger than other kinds of GF bagels.\u00a0 Whole grain and white flour options.\u00a0 Can handle being frozen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: Aren\u2019t always sliced all the way through and are moderately fragile so you have to be careful when you rip them apart (a small price to pay).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.glutino.com\/\"><strong>2) Glutino Pretzels<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Glutino-Pretzelsa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1969 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Glutino-Pretzelsa-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Glutino-Pretzelsa-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Glutino-Pretzelsa-100x150.jpg 100w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Glutino-Pretzelsa.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Have a slightly sweet and salty flavor.\u00a0 Come in a number of varieties, sticks, twists, salted, not salted, and chocolate covered!\u00a0 Great snack; I\u2019m partial to the sticks as well as the milk chocolate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: None that I can think of.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bionaturae.com\/gluten-free-pasta.html\"><strong>3)\u00a0Bionaturae GF Pasta<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Bionature_Penne_small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1970 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Bionature_Penne_small-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Bionature_Penne_small-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Bionature_Penne_small-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Bionature_Penne_small.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I actually didn\u2019t discover this wonderful and life sustaining product on my own.\u00a0 My friends LMP and DP had me over for dinner when I was newly diagnosed and happened to pick up this product.\u00a0 You will come to find that the people in your life become your eyes and ears and alert you to more GF products and places than you can ever find on your own.\u00a0 I buy this product online in bulk off of Amazon as it is not readily available at stores near me even though I live in a humongous city.\u00a0 Go figure.\u00a0 Buying it offline is also slightly cheaper then what is charged in stores and it allows me to maintain a cache of this very handy staple.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Comes in several different varieties. Doesn\u2019t need to be rinsed after boiling (like brown rice pasta).\u00a0 Tastes like normal pasta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: Not carried in all places.\u00a0 The company has an equally extensive non-GF line so you have to pay attention when purchasing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.naturespath.com\/products\/all?tid=All&amp;brand=61&amp;nutri=53\"><strong>4)\u00a0 Envirokidz Peanut Choco Drizzle Crispy Rice Bars<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/EKBars-Lemur-US-A1L1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1971 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/EKBars-Lemur-US-A1L1-300x247.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/EKBars-Lemur-US-A1L1-300x247.png 300w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/EKBars-Lemur-US-A1L1-150x123.png 150w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/EKBars-Lemur-US-A1L1.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I have found that if you can find GF food geared toward children it tends to be very tasty.\u00a0 This product is but one example of this phenomenon.\u00a0 This company has several different kinds of rice bars and a whole line of cereal.\u00a0 I\u2019m very partial to the Peanut Choco Drizzle bars, not just because of the lemur on the packaging, but it definitely helps.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Comes in individually wrapped boxes of six which can be easily be toted around as back up\/emergency food, or say, breakfast.\u00a0 As far as snack foods go they aren\u2019t terrible for you nutritionally or calorically. Organic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: None that I can think of.\u00a0 Maybe when the box runs out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/consumer.kinnikinnick.com\/index.cfm\/fuseaction\/consumer.home.html\"><strong>5) Kinnikinnick Kinnitoos<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/kinnitoos.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1972 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/kinnitoos.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/kinnitoos.jpg 300w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/kinnitoos-150x95.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Natural ingredients.\u00a0 Lack other allergens.\u00a0 Delicious substitute for Oreos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cons<\/span>: Because there aren\u2019t gross ingredients they tend to get stale and soggy pretty quickly once they are opened so make sure to wrap up leftovers tight (as if there would be any).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.applegatefarms.com\/\">6)\u00a0Applegate Farms Products <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/applegate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1973 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/applegate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"133\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/applegate.jpg 250w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/applegate-150x79.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I like most, if not all of their products, which range from frozen food to deli meats to sliced cheese.\u00a0 Fun fact, they are based in my hometown. I found this out long after I had left home, but I think it is a nice coincidence, brings things full circle.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pros<\/span>: Obvious GF labeling.\u00a0 Raise their animals in an appropriate manner.\u00a0 Organic.
