After some poking around we didn\u2019t find a recipe that quite fulfilled the craving, so we used a few as guidance, mostly <a href=\"http:\/\/noshingwiththenolands.com\/gluten-free-savory-bread-pudding\/\">Noshing with the Nolands<\/a>, and struck out on our own.<\/p>\n<p>From this experiment we learned the following: bread goes a long way. You probably don\u2019t need as much as you think.<\/p>\n<p>This recipe creation reminded us that experimenting in the kitchen is a process. Dishes are not going to be perfect the first time around, and good recipes and balance take time to develop. We all need to cut ourselves slack sometimes &#8211; the truth is if it turns out on the wet or on the dry side you can\u2019t go wrong with baked bread, cheese, and vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>Adjust\u00a0the ratios of wet to dry ingredients to make this recipe\u00a0just how you like it.\u00a0Some people like wet bread pudding (like me!) and some people like dry (like Jennie); we think that this ratio turned out to be a good balance between the two.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-16296\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535-801x1200.jpg\" alt=\"Savory GF Bread Pudding | Garlic, My Soul\" width=\"800\" height=\"1199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535-801x1200.jpg 801w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535-667x1000.jpg 667w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535-500x749.jpg 500w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC_7535.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10 oz. gf bread, cubed (we used Udi\u2019s hamburger buns)<br \/>\n5 ounces of cubed brown portabella mushroom caps (or mushrooms of your choice)<br \/>\n1 head broccollini, rough chopped<br \/>\n4 leaves of kale, rough chopped<br \/>\n\u00bc white onion, rough chopped<br \/>\n10 halved sundried tomatoes<br \/>\n6 eggs<br \/>\n1 cup of milk<br \/>\n8 oz. fontina, cubed<br \/>\nparmesan, for topping<br \/>\nsalt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Cube gf bread and toast at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes or until slightly browned<br \/>\n2) Rough chop broccolini, mushrooms, kale, and onion and saute in wok until kale is wilted.<br \/>\n3) Mix toasted bread, vegetables, and fontina in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.<br \/>\n4) In a separate bowl mix eggs and milk then add to bread, vegetable, and cheese mixture.<br \/>\n5) Place mixture in greased baking pan, top with parmesan cheese and bake for 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees.
