For our final week of Thanksgiving match-ups, we&#8217;re testing a new stuffing recipe against the rosemary, cornbread and chicken sausage stuffing we&#8217;ve made the last several years.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12445\" alt=\"Garlic My Soul | Pear Fennel Stuffing\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Pear-Fennel-Stuffing-Horiz.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Pear-Fennel-Stuffing-Horiz.jpg 800w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Pear-Fennel-Stuffing-Horiz-652x432.jpg 652w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Pear-Fennel-Stuffing-Horiz-451x300.jpg 451w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Pear-Fennel-Stuffing-Horiz-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jennie and I are pretty fond of our cornbread stuffing, so it was a challenge to concoct a recipe that sounded promising. This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marthastewart.com\/1040386\/sausage-pear-stuffing?center=0&amp;gallery=1040382&amp;slide=%3Fxsc%3Dsoc_pin_2013_11_4_Food_Thanksgiving_C1040386&amp;crlt.pid=camp.NIijFMUStvNI\" target=\"_blank\">Martha Stewart recipe<\/a> inspired us to experiment with pear, fennel and pork sausage, but we also wanted a trace of something unusual. So, we cooked the pears with cinnamon and a touch of curry, and added cranberries for good measure.\u00a0Of course, we also made this one with cornbread so it could be gluten-free for our guests!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-12451\" title=\"Garlic My Soul | Pear Fennel Stuffing\" alt=\"Garlic My Soul | Pear Fennel Stuffing\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_3389.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_3389.jpg 800w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_3389-652x435.jpg 652w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_3389-449x300.jpg 449w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_3389-149x100.jpg 149w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, this was as delicious as we hoped. The cinnamon pears, fennel, and cranberries paired nicely with the savory sausage and sage. Not to mention, the texture was perfect. Everything came together as a cohesive dish without turning to mush. We did find ourselves missing the stronger flavor of the chicken sausage that we&#8217;ve gotten used to, and we won&#8217;t deny that curry is not for everyone!
