There is menu planning to discuss! Tables to prep! Something, always, to chop!<\/p>\n<p>In order to prep ourselves for a full day of cooking away from home, we usually serve up something that we&#8217;ve made in advance &#8211; and that something is usually <a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/pre-thanksgiving-prep-hap-house\/\">Prune Cake.<\/a>\u00a0We made it during the <a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/ree-wed-like-a-word\/\">Pioneer Women Challenge of 2010<\/a>, and honestly I think we just made it because we needed to make the prune cake. But it stuck, and we&#8217;ve made it several years running as a quick and easy (and delicious!) breakfast before the massive Thanksgiving Meal.<\/p>\n<p>This is all to say: maybe four years later, we need a different approach to breakfast &#8211; one with a more savory (read: balanced) approach. Enter these savory breakfast muffins.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/test-kitchen-tuesday-savory-breakfast-muffins\/savory-muffins-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12391\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12391\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Savory-Muffins-2.jpg\" alt=\"Garlic My Soul | Savory Breakfast Muffins\" width=\"800\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Savory-Muffins-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Savory-Muffins-2-652x432.jpg 652w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Savory-Muffins-2-451x300.jpg 451w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Savory-Muffins-2-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These muffins were a spin off of the <a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/gluten-free-savory-muffins\/\">Gluten Free Savory Muffins<\/a> that Mel and I made earlier this year &#8211; only these are not gluten free, and we switched up the contents with breakfast sausage, broccoli, and cheddar cheese.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/savory-breakfast-muffins\/\">The full recipe is here<\/a>, but suffice to say, these were a winner &#8211; they were easy to put together, easy to eat, easy to reheat&#8230;and they have a veggie!
