Ironically, it was a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/joannaborns\/mason-jars-are-ending-this-charade-once-and-for-all\" target=\"_blank\"> buzzfeed article<\/a> mocking the internet&#8217;s obsession with mason jars that inspired this recipe. Sorry, buzzfeed. I just couldn&#8217;t resist the charm of mini-pumpkin breads inside a mason jar. Canned pumpkin tends to be thicker, so you might need to add a little water or milk to thin out your batter if you go with the canned stuff. You can then seal them up and give them away as gifts! I&#8217;m not going to say that I held my jar with a potholder and ate the warm bread right out of it, but I&#8217;m also not going to promise that I didn&#8217;t&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prep Time:<\/strong> 10 minutes<br \/>\n<strong>Cook Time:<\/strong> 35 minutes<br \/>\n<strong>Yields<\/strong>: 4 breads<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bd cup all-purpose <strong>flour<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup white <strong>sugar<\/strong><br \/>\n2\/3 \u00a0cup <strong>applesauce<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup <strong>pumpkin puree<\/strong><br \/>\n2 <strong>eggs<\/strong><br \/>\n1 tsp <strong>baking powder<\/strong><br \/>\n1 tsp <strong>baking soda<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bd tsp <strong>salt<\/strong><br \/>\n1 tsp ground <strong>cinnamon<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bd tsp ground <strong>cloves<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bd tsp ground <strong>cardamom<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bc cup chopped <strong>walnuts<\/strong>, optional<br \/>\n\u00bc cup semisweet <strong>chocolate chips<\/strong>, optional<br \/>\n1 tbsp powdered <strong>sugar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray 4 mason jars.<br \/>\n2. Mix white sugar and applesauce together in a large bowl; stir pumpkin puree and eggs into sugar mixture until smooth. Mix baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, cardamom, and cloves into pumpkin mixture. Stir flour into pumpkin mixture until fully incorporated. Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips, if desired.<br \/>\n3. Fill mason jars (I used pint sized ones) about halfway and place jars on baking sheet.<br \/>\n4. Bake for about 35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
