The more I learn about ways to cook fish and incorporate it into my diet, the more appealing it has become as a staple food item. I recently learned how to \u201cbread\u201d fish with Paleo friendly options, which keeps the focus on protein and away from cream\/breading\/butter, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/paleo-friendly-breaded-fish-sauteed-spinach\/dsc_0074-5\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11185\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11185\" alt=\"Paleo Friendly Breaded Fish | Garlic, My Soul\" src=\"http:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0074.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0074.jpg 800w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0074-652x435.jpg 652w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0074-449x300.jpg 449w, https:\/\/garlicmysoul.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSC_0074-149x100.jpg 149w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 pound of <strong>white fish<\/strong> (I used tilapia here but I prefer to use Trader Joe\u2019s wild caught Alaskan cod, which can be found in their frozen section)<br \/>\n1 cup <strong>almond meal<\/strong><br \/>\n1\/3 cup <strong>shredded coconut<\/strong><br \/>\n1 <strong>egg<\/strong><br \/>\n1 teaspoon <strong>cayenne pepper<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Salt\/pepper<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Coconut oil <\/strong>(can sub other oils, such as olive oil)<br \/>\n1 bag of <strong>spinach<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>garlic<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>olive oil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I lessened the recipe since Jennie and I made less than 1 pound of fish and even when I cooked this dish on a previous occasion, I found I had leftover breading. Try to keep the ratio proportional but there\u2019s no need to waste ingredients! Only use as much as you need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start by beating the egg in a dish and setting the oven to 450.<\/p>\n<p>Set aside and mix together the almond meal, coconut shreds and cayenne pepper (also cut back on the cayenne pepper if you are not a fan of spicy. This amount will give it a big kick). Once both sides of the fish are covered, place on a lightly greased baking sheet (I typically use coconut oil).\u00a0Bake for 15 minutes at 450. I chose a super simple spinach saut\u00e9. Pour a little olive oil in a pan, add your garlic and the bag of spinach. Saut\u00e9 and mix until soft.
